DETERMINED Troon bounced back from defeat against Largs to boost their promotion hopes with a hard-fought win at Guy's Meadow.
The visitors began well and in five minutes a great run and cross from Evan Maley just evaded Dylan Pooler at the back post;
In 16 minutes they were awarded a penalty when Evan Maley was tripped inside the box by McCabe and Ross Barbour netted from the penalty spot.
Their advantage was doubled 12 minutes later when a superb shot from Maley was spilled by the goalie and the alert Pooler fired home.
On the half hour Maley topped a brilliant individual half hour with a smart finish to make it 3-0.
In 52 minutes Ross McCrea had a great "goal" chalked off for offside although he looked onside.
Two minutes later Cumbernauld pulled a goal back from the penalty spot,
The visitors came close in 68 minutes when a Dan McKay shot was tipped round the post by the goalie.
Nine minutes later recent signing David Syme sealed victory with a header.
Troon were denied a possibly penalty in 84 minutes before Scott Chatham twisted, turned and fired wide.
Two minutes from time Cumbernauld reduced the deficit with a cheap header conceded at the back post.
