ANNBANK United boss Mark Pringle wants to see his side build momentum after an impressive victory over Eddlewood.
Their opponents were the only side in the WoSFL Fourth Division to boast a perfect record before The Bankies earned a 2-1 win on Saturday.
It was Eddlewood who took the lead in the fixture, racing ahead with 21 minutes on the clock.
Though Yusuf Ulukus levelled within minutes as the sides headed into the break with the match all-square.
Annbank then secured all three points shortly before the hour mark as Ulukus slotted home his second from the penalty spot to help halt a two-match losing run.
“It’s the first time we’ve had a squad available to us," Pringle commented. "Like a lot of teams, the early start has caught us out a bit.
“I’m absolutely delighted, and we deserved every bit of it. It could have been more, should have been more.
“The first half performance was as good as I’ve seen us in a long time. We played football and had them pinned back for long parts.
“It’s good to see us, not just winning, but deserving to win. I’m really pleased, it will give the boys a lift.
“They’re a smashing team, you can tell they’ve got lots of quality, we just turned up on the day. It’s a great three points.”
The New Pebble Park boss says it came as no surprise to see his side fight from behind with the character in his squad already evident.
He added: “We conceded six goals the week before and we gave ridiculous goals away, but the second half the boys showed a lot of bottle.
“We got it back to 4-3, we lost the game, ultimately it wasn’t good enough, but that character is there.
“Going behind at Eddlewood, we had them penned in and they broke away. The boys have shown a bit, we scored quite quickly which I think helped.”
Now, Pringle wants to see his side kick on as they head into a run of home fixtures both in league and cup action.
He continued: “We’ve got four home games now, that result on Saturday has got to give us momentum.
“We can’t look past Castlemilk on Wednesday (August 12), if we can go and get three points against a right tough team - it will give us big confidence going forward.”
