AYR Cricket Club enjoyed an impressive week of action with sides winning two of three matches in a busy schedule.
The club's first team got back to winning ways on Saturday after a recent run of disappointing results.
They did so in emphatic style with a thumping win over third placed Stenhousemuir at The Tryst.
The home team won the toss and elected to bat with openers Valli and Rana putting on 45 for the before bowlers Woodhouse and Walsh claimed three wickets including that of the prolific Yaseen Valli.
Woodhouse then bagged a third for himself as he had Sajjad caught behind off an excellent catch behind the stumps by Mikey Miller off a thin inside edge.
It was then the turn of the spinners to get in on the act as Jackson Smith and Ollie Jones each claimed two wickets to leave Stenny on 95-8 before Walsh returned to the attack and claim the final two wickets with the total on 129.
The Ayr reply did not get off to the best of starts losing captain Scott McElnea with the total on only 15, but a century stand between Andi McElenea and Reuben Swanepoel put them within sight of victory when McElnea was bowled for 42 by Rana.
Ollie Jones then joined Swanepoel (73 no) to see them over the winning line as they finished on 133-2 with almost 20 overs to spare and secured victory by eight wickets.
The week brought mixed fortunes for the club's second team, the Cambusdoon XI, who started out with their final home game in the Midweek League.
They South Ayrshire side recorded a 14-run victory at home to GHK Strathclyde as they batted first and scored 121-3 with Reuben Swanepoel (44) and Jonny Baines (42 no) providing the main contributions.
When the visitors came to bat it was the Cambusdoon spinners who did the damage with captain Mikey Maxwell leading from the front taking 4-13 and good support from Jonny Baines 2-12 and Harry Boyd 2-13 as GHK were bowled out for 107.
Though they could not follow up the result on Saturday as they hosted Stirling County 2nd XI and came up short in their run chase of the visitors total of 206-9.
The Cambusdoon bowlers had started the game well dismissing the Stirling openers with only four on the board before the middle order of Bowes (71), Amos (30) and Banks (48) got the innings back on track.
Pick of the Cambusdoon bowlers was Nari Bhandari who finished with figures of 4-39.
The Cambusdoon reply got off to the worst possible start as they were soon reduced to 7-3 before Ross Mitchell and Richard Borland (52) steadied the ship.
When they departed Jonny Baines (49 no) and Nari Bhandari (31) took the attack to the Stirling bowlers before a hat-trick from Alisdair Banks put an end to Cambusdoon's hopes of victory as they were eventually bowled out for 170 to leave Stirling victors by 36 runs.
