BOTH men's and women's sides were in action across South Ayrshire in what was a thrilling weekend of rugby fixtures.

In the National Premiership, it was another outstanding weekend for Ayr as they made it 16 consecutive bonus point wins.
The Millbrae outfit were made to work as they ran out 28-5 winners at home to GHA on Saturday.

In the National Shield, Ayr were well beaten in the opening pool stage match as they fell to a 58-17 defeat away to Greenock Wanderers.
It was a similar story in the National Shield where Marr lost their opener to Annan 85-7.
Carrick, in the same competition, were handed a 28-0 loss as they had insufficient players for their scheduled tie away to Perthshire.
