TWO South Ayrshire rugby sides saw their unbeaten records fall in what proved to be a challenging weekend for local sides.
The area's clubs have had it much their own way since the season got underway though that run was halted on Saturday.
However, that wasn't the story for Ayr RFC who maintained their perfect start to the campaign in the National Premiership.
The Millbrae outfit made it seven straight bonus point wins as they took down Kelso 42-19 in South Ayrshire.
Converted tries from Bobby Beattie, Robbie Orr and Lewis McNamara had the home side cruising in the opening 15 minutes.
Though two quickfire tries from the visitors, one of which was converted, meant just nine points separated the sides at the break.
However, Ayr moved back into cruise control with Ryan Sweeney and Tim Brown going over before Kelso hit back once more.
Though Grant Anderson's men would have the last say as Jamie Drummond rounded off another impressive afternoon for the table toppers.
Unfortunately for Marr RFC, they relinquished their grip on top spot of National Division One on Saturday.
The Troon outfit were unbeaten heading into their fixture at home to Edinburgh Academical - another side yet to face defeat this season.
Despite the best efforts of the Fullarton side, the visitors took away a 38-17 win which pushes Marr down into third position.
They were not the only club to lose for the first time this weekend either, with Carrick RFC also facing the same fate.
The Maybole outfit had been in top spot in West Division One before they travelled to Lenzie on Saturday.
A narrow 31-21 defeat saw the club slip two points off the pace in what looks set to be a hotly contested title race.
In women's rugby, it was heartache for Ayr as they travelled to take on Hillhead Jordanhill on Sunday.
The South Ayrshire club put in a superb second half showing but fell just short as they lost 31-27 in the West Division One fixture.
While Marr also fell to defeat in their Second Division tie at home to Hamilton - with the visitors claiming a 43-17 victory.
Though there was a positive result for Carrick in Division Three, with the Maybole outfit winning a home match against Whitecraigs 40-10.
