VOLUNTEERS and runners at Ayr parkrun are set to celebrate their 10th anniversary this weekend.
The weekly event started back in September 2014, and since then has welcomed 5,517 participants to Rozelle Park.
Over 28,600 parkruns have been completed, covering a phenomenal distance of 143,275 kilometres.
Almost 500 people have volunteered their time to help put on the event, volunteering over 5,000 times.
The parkrun receives an average of 72 participants every week, who run the five kilometre route in all weathers.
A spokesperson said: "Just a reminder that Ayr parkrun will be 10 this Saturday, September 21. Come along and help us celebrate (party hats optional)."
