Ayr recorded a nervy win against Stenhousemuir in their final game of the 2024 Western Union but fell short in their attempt to retain the title as league leaders Clydesdale beat Drumpellier to win the Borland Trophy.

As with most games in the west, the game at Cambusdoon was a low scoring affair as the heavy rain during the week led to pitches not getting as much preparation as the groundsman would have liked, which led to a delayed start and the match reduced to 43 overs per side.

Ayr batted first and after a promising start were bowled out for 106, Micheal English top scoring with 32. The Stenhousemuir reply was reliant on a fifty from Shazad who was last man out as Stenny were bowled out for 93.

The Cambusdoon XI ended their season on a disappointing manner as they were well beaten at Langloan as they were bowled out for 58 a total the hosts reached for the loss of only five wickets.

On Sunday the Development XI lost their final Sunday League of the season. Chasing the visitors total of 188-8 they were bowled out for 162.
