Ayr basketball star Robyn Love shot 16 points as she made a winning start to her Paralympic campaign in Paris.

The British wheelchair basketball ladies started their games with a 69-34 victory over Spain in their first group game at the Bercy Arena in the French capital.

Team GB led 37-17 at the break, and continued their dominance after the break and scored another 32 points to win the match comfortably.

Alongside her 16 points, Robyn also chipped in with 18 defensive rebounds, as she marked her 34th birthday with a win.

Robyn and her teammates will face Canada on Saturday with a 9.30am start, before facing China in their final group game.

A stalwart of international wheelchair basketball, Love helped the GB team to a fourth-place finish at Rio 2016 and won medals at the World and European Championships.

She then led Team Scotland at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham before captaining Loughborough Lightning to the BWB Women’s Premier League title.

Since then she has turned her attention to tennis and last year won both the singles and doubles titles at the ITF Futures Series in Bulles, Switzerland.
