AYR United manager Scott Brown is set to get a taste of the Ayrshire derby for the first time.
It comes as the Somerset Park club announced they would be hosting Kilmarnock in a pre-season 'friendly'.
The game is set to take place at Somerset on Thursday, July 11, with tickets set to go on sale soon.
While Brown is well experienced in derby matches, playing in a number of Old Firm matches during his time at Celtic, it will be a first taste of the Ayrshire rivalry for the boss.
Meanwhile Derek McInnes experienced the fixture when his Kilmarnock side won the Scottish Championship back in 2022.
He has a 50 per cent record in the fixture thus far, losing his first derby match in charge 2-1 at Rugby Park in February 2022 before winning his second a month later, 3-1 at Somerset Park.
The game will kick off at 7.45pm and is sure to be a feisty fixture - and a friendly only by name.
