A famous Ayrshire pie was the basis of a BBC reporter's gaffe after Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou was asked if he had tried one yet.

After Celtic's 4-1 rout of Kilmarnock on Sunday, April 16, journalist Rob Maclean had somehow linked the attendance of South Korea coach Jurgen Kilnsmann to a question about whether or not the Hoops boss had tried a Killie Pie yet.

The delicious treat, originally made by local bakers Brownings, has been a famous offering at Kilmarnock's Rugby Park over the years, and is also popular throughout Ayrshire.

Maclean asked the Celtic manager: "He (Klinsmann) doesn't look like a Killie pie man, I don't know if he's sampled it yet. Have you sampled yours yet?"

Postecoglou replied with signature deadpan delivery: "So you're saying I do look like a Killie pie man?"

MacLean answered nervously: "No, not at all. I didn't say that, don't take me out of context now!"

A laughing Postecoglou replied: "Okay, all right. Well, I did say I was going to try one so..."
