Glasgow Clan last week announced that they have re-signed Scottish forward Jordan Buesa to a new contract that sees him stay with the Scottish ice hockey giants for the 2022/23 season.

The 22-year-old from Troon is returning for a second season in his second spell with the club and will be looking to play a part in improving the club’s fortunes after they finished sixth in the Premier Sports Elite League last season.

Buesa is now looking to add to his 120 Glasgow Clan appearances and his total of 224 in all Elite League competitions.

Speaking to Glasgow Clan media Jordan admitted that there are areas he wants to improve on but believes he’s in the right place to make those improvements.

Jordan said: “I want to be an all-round player who takes responsibility and performs my role well is where I’d like to improve,” he said. “I also found I’ve learned from the mistakes as well, which I feel I have got better.

“I enjoyed working with Malcolm last year and learning his systems, I found, fitted into the way I play so it was enjoyable from that point of view.

“Coming back was an easy decision and I was pleased to be asked to sign again for the new season. I love being at the Clan and I want to win things so it’s the right place to be for me.

“After the way last season ended, there is a sense of unfinished business so I can’t wait to get back and get started again.”

Clan boss, Malcolm Cameron also commented on having Jordan back for the new season.

He said: “We’re excited to have Jordan Buesa back in the line-up for sure. He’s a young, energetic player who has a lot of future potential in him.

“He was unfortunate last year in so far as not getting as much ice time as he deserved or I would have liked.

“But this season, I anticipate being able to play more depth and be able to give young players like Jordan more of an opportunity.”

Buesa returned to Glasgow last year after two years with the Fife Flyers after proving that he could play physically with bags of energy, something Malcolm appreciates.
