A COMBINED team of Ayr and Auchinleck Juniors recently played their first match in the Scottish Young Indoor Bowling Association (SYIBA) Top Six against Dumbarton.
The Ayrshire youngsters were in competitive action at the end of last month at Dumbarton and District Indoor Bowling Club.
Keiran Hamilton (Auchinleck) in the singles put the setback of losing a “full house” of four shots in the first end to win 21-13.
The Ayr pairing of Andrew Lyon and Luke Jones scored 16 unanswered shots before closing out the tie 26-5.
The Triples team of Sam McClue (Auchinleck), Lewis Glover (Ayr) and Skye Young (Auchinleck) were almost as impressive in their 18-9 win, to secure a quarter final place against Ardrossan.
