Ayr Storm Basketball Club completed a perfect weekend as all their sides picked up wins.

The club had several of their men’s and women’s teams in action both home and away across a variety of age ranges.

One of the sides in action at their home ground of Belmont Academy was the U14’s boys team, who picked up an emphatic 67-35 win over South Lanarkshire Colliers.

The hosts started strongly out of the blocks, racking up 24 points in the first period, with the baskets being spread across the team, with five different players getting on the score sheet.

Storm maintained their standards during the second period , with baskets from Lewis Cameron, Evan Ferguson, Stuart Anderson and Sammy Joyce extending their lead as they went in at half time leading 39-17.

Cameron starred in the third quarter racking up 13 of the hosts 14 points in that period thanks in aid to a lot of help from Storm forward Devlin Blacklock’s creativity and assists.

In the final quarter, the game was all but won in a more even ending to the match, as the hosts ran out comfortable winners to give them a W3, L2 profile in the league.

Elsewhere at the club, the U18’s men built on their improved form and picked up their first win of the season in the Scottish Basketball Championship away in Bellshill against Glasgow City.

The first period was a tight and physical affair, but Storm just edged it 17-16.

However, in the second quarter the Ayr side stepped up the pace with a high tempo game with improved passing creating open shots to lead by 11 at the interval.

The second half was more of the same with a tight third period before the away side took a big margin in the final period to win 26-13.

Meanwhile, both Ayr Storm’s U16’s and U18’s women were on their National League travels on the weekend.

The U16’s headed to Grangemouth to face Falkirk Fury picking up a huge 83-43 win with Louise Fisher scoring a women’s club record 38 points in the rout.
