Girvan manager Matt Maley says he is thrilled his side got back to winning ways as they beat Lugar Boswell Thistle 5-0 at the weekend.

The Seasiders went into the West of Scotland Football League Conference A match looking for a positive result having lost their last two league matches.

They certainly did just that as goals from Craig Harvey, Mark Curragh and a hattrick from Mitchell Ewing gave them an emphatic away win at Rosebank Park.

Speaking to the Advertiser, Maley said: “While we have been getting beat, we have been getting beat marginally on most occasions.

“We have been creating chances and just not finishing them and one day it was going to click, we knew it had to come soon.

“Lugar started well in the game, in the first 20 minutes I thought they were probably better than us.

“But we managed to settle into the game and absolutely dictated it from 20 minutes on.

“At 5-0, with no disrespect to Lugar, it could have been a higher scoreline for us.

“That was more pleasing than anything, it was the way we won and not just to get three points.”
