Whitletts Victoria manager George Grierson hailed his side for a ‘record’ 12-0 win over Saltcoats Victoria at the weekend.

There were eight different goalscorers during in the win, with Isaac Kerr, Scott Dempster, Jamie Henderson, Callum Ogston and Kieran McLaughlin all

picking up a goal each.

There were doubles for Cammy Ross and Louis Kerr, as Jordan Boyd bagged himself a hattrick in the Conference A clash.

Speaking to the Advertiser, Greirson said:”I am fortunate enough to have overseen a few big wins in my managerial career. But according to the club secretary John Dalton it was a club record score for Whitletts Victoria, which is very pleasing.

“In the first half, we were playing into a 40mph wind which is very hard to do and we were still 8-0 up at the break.

“But we moved the ball about so well in those conditions and played some of the best football in all of my time in charge of the club.

“I do not think there was a bad performance out there for us at the weekend but Ross was excellent and Boyd also deserves a mention for scoring a hattrick in six minutes.”
