Maybole Juniors manager Carlo Walker applauded four goal hero Rab Parsons for his contribution during their 6-0 win over Lesmahagow at the weekend.

The Bole received an early man advantage at Ladywell when the away side were reduced to 10 men after a red card for dangerous play in the third minute.

Seven minutes later, Andy Stevenson opened the scoring for the hosts and the Bole went into the break ahead.

In the second half, Parsons scored a header to double their advantage.

Ewan Smith then made it three nil before Lesmahagow were reduced to nine men.

Parsons took full advantage to grab another three goals to cap off an impressive individual performance.

Speaking to the Advertiser, Walker said: “Parsons is phenomenal, he set one up and scored four.

“He is 37-years-old but his work rate and fitness levels are brilliant.

“If you look after yourself you give yourself a good chance of playing at any age.

“I played until I was 46 so to me 37 is young!

“I was still ambitious and trying to win things at that age and Parsons is the exact same, there is no point in just taking part.”
