The European Bowls Union Championships, set to be held in Ayr, has been cancelled due to coronavirus.
The tournament was due to take place between August 2 and 7 at Ayr's Northfield bowling club.
The 2019 edition took place in Guernsey, with the host proving victorious.
European Bowls Union announced today that the 2021 event has been called off due to the ongoing pandemic.
Due to the packed schedule in 2022, the next European Championships will be held in 2023, with Bowls Scotland agreeing in principle to host the event.
A date for the rescheduled event will be confirmed closer to the time.
