BOTH Troon Ladies teams played their first match back on Saturday following the mid-season break.

The match between Ladies 1s and Glasgow Accies Ladies 1s was a fast, dynamic game with all to play. From pass back, Troon delivered a series of fast breaks up the left wing, a strategy that delivered in the form of an early lead with Rosie Tudor finding the back of Glasgow Accies net.

The relentless pressure produced outcomes for Glasgow Accies with a set of penalty corners awarded. After a series of robust defences they drew level with a converted short corner. Glasgow Accies, however, could not maintain the pressure, and Troon’s spirit returned with a series of strong breaks, their resilience having improved.

While Troon continued to chase, the visitors pulled ahead with a converted penalty and scored again.

Travelling away, Ladies 2s faced Stepps Ladies 2s at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre. Troon built a series of successive plays that placed steady pressure on the Stepps goal. Success came in the latter part of the first half when a ball struck by Leigh Timothy was placed into the back of the net by Kirsty Pattison. Going into the second half with a 1-0 lead did not diminish Troon’s desire. Their control and ability to retain possession enabled them to make sharp and accurate passes.
