SHATTERED Troon assistant boss Matt Maley said poor defending caused their downfall in a heavy weekend defeat.
The Seasiders suffered a shock 5-1 loss at home to Clydebank in the McBookie Premiership.
It was their seventh defeat out of 13 in what has been a real roller-coaster season for the Seasiders.
Maley said: "Mistakes totally cost us and you can't afford to do that against a quality team like Clydebank. We were just 2-0 down at half-time and myself and the boss Jim Kirkwood said not to concede an early goal but unfortunately that's what we did and that made it really difficult for us to get anything out of the game.
"It was really just one of those days - a bad day at the office, they can happen. Our aim is to make sure we consolidate in this league, that must be the priority."
Saturday sees the Seasiders host Royal Albert in the Ardagh Group West of Scotland Cup.
Maley added: "It would have been good to get a league match in but we look forward to the cup tie, it's important to us and hopefully we can progress in the competition."
