FREE-scoring Ayr United star striker Lawrence Shankland and manager Ian McCall were today presented with awards to mark their team's great form.
The target man has continued his fine form from last season, already bagging 12 goals.
Meanwhile McCall thanked chairman Lachlan Cameron for the debt he owed him for giving him a chance at Somerset Park.
He also talked about good times at Falkirk - with whom he was linked last week - and the great relationship he had had with the now deceased chairman Campbell Christie.
However he stressed he had a job to do here.
It was only a month in and this was a tough league that was going to be tight and that whoever wins it would still lose eight or nine games.
McCall said his main objective was to ensure that Ayr become a strong team in the Championship. He was not going to talk about a "sleeping giant" but thought they should be a good Championship club.
He said his team hasn't done anything yet but that's his target.
There was still a lot to do or change at the club to get them where they need to be.
