HIGHLY talented teenage Prestwick bowler was celebrating his second major singles success inside a year.
Darren Weir (18) won the Scottish Under-21 title at Coatbridge on Sunday.
He defeated Connor Robertson from Abbeyview in Fife 21-11 in the final - 24 hours after overcoming Paul Innes from Midlothian 21-10 in the semi-final.
Jubilant Darren told Sportscene: "I am absolutely delighted to win the event and especially as it's an Under-21 competition and I am just 18 so I will have a few more years competing in this.
"It was quite a close game in the first few ends but eventually I took control of the match. The Under-18s win was good but this is the biggest event I have won so far. I have been working hard in practise throughout the season and that has been rewarded."
Meanwhile Darren's clubmates Craig Lindsay and Paul Foster lost in the pairs final to Midlothian's Billy Peacock and Colin Walker after defeating Abbeyview in the semi-final
The Galleon gents triples beat Dundee in the semi final then were beaten by on-form East Lothian team.
