OPTIMISTIC Troon FC assistant boss Matt Maley was impressed with his team's all-round play as they chalked up their second straight win in the McBookie Super League First Division.
They swept aside Largs Thistle 4-1, just a week after a 7-1 demolition of hosts Maryhill.
The Seasiders have recovered well from their 3-2 opening day defeat against Irvine Meadow and look to be gaining in confidence.
Maley said: "The boys took an awful lot of confidence from the Maryhill game into Saturday and it showed. The opening goal was a real wonder strike from 20 odd yards from Scott McLean and that really settled us and it was a good second goal from Jack Paterson. I thought up front we were very strong but also at the back we played really well and that was pleasing.
"We also had Evan Maley back in the team for the first time in 11 weeks with ligament damage and it was good to have him back on board. We played some really good football and deserved to win the game."
Now the assistant boss is looking forward to Saturday's home clash with Shettleston. But he is looking for more backing.
He said: "It's a home game and one we must really look to win. The team is taking shape. The fans were vocal on Saturday but I would really like more fans to turn out and back us on Saturday. That could make a difference. It's important that local people get right behind us."
