A POPULAR Troon author gave a fascinating insight into what inspired him at a special talk staged in Troon Library.
More than 40 people turned out at the South Beach venue to hear Tom McKerley talked about what inspired him to write and the genealogy which is at the heart of its books which feature the top character Ingrid Schippers = Bloodlines - Touch Not The Cat and Bloodlines - Traces - a mystery series on cultural inheritance.
The characters and their life stories detailed in the Bloodlines series could be the story of anyone whose great-grandmother answered the call for liberation and anyone whose predecessors fought for justice and fulfilment in their quest for survival.
There then followed a question-and-answer session which provoked a lot of discussion.
