If you are heading to Connect Music Festival this weekend, here are the items you can't bring to the Royal Highland Centre event.

The festival that celebrates the very best of Scotland's homegrown talent and welcomes the "most influential and pioneering names from around the world" has returned.

The music lover event promises festival-goers a weekend ( August 26-28) of Grand Parade heavyweights and brilliant breakthrough acts.

Here are all the prohibited items that you can't bring to the popular festival.

Banned Items at Connect Music Festival 2022

You should only bring essential items to the festival site with event organisers advising you leave your valuables at home.

There is also a list of prohibited items you should be aware of before heading to the festival, these include:

  • Chairs (except for campsite area)
  • Professional cameras
  • Drugs
  • Fireworks/ sparklers, confetti cannons, blow torches, sky or ‘Chinese’ lanterns
  • Flares
  • Airhorns
  • Any weapons
  • Excessive amounts of cigarettes and/or vapes
  • Petrol burners, firewood, candles or any flames, generators
  • Inflatables
  • Umbrellas 
  • Selfie sticks 
  • Gas or smoke devices
  • Drones
  • Megaphones
  • Disposable barbeques 
  • Kites/ Boomerangs/ Frisbees
  • Campsite stoves
  • Gazebos
  • Bags larger than 30cm x 42cm (the size of a sheet of A3 paper) won't be allowed in the arena
  • Sound systems
  • Spray paint cans
  • Aerosols over 250ml
  • Camping equipment (except for in the campsite area)
  • Glass bottles/ jars/ containers
  • Unofficial tabards and reflective jackets (Hi-Vis),

The event organisers can confiscate any item that is deemed and/or suspected illegal or unsuitable.

Anyone found in possession may be arrested and/or refused entry if they have illegal or intoxicating substances including:

  • Illegal drugs
  • “Legal/herbal” highs
  • New psychoactive substances (NPS)
  • Nitrous oxide (NOS/laughing gas) and associated equipment including balloons, and unidentifiable substances.

You should also note that if you have bags, you will be directed into bag search lanes and that there are no storage lockers available at the event.
