YOUTUBE golf stars have hinted that "something major" is coming after filming on some of Ayrshire's finest golf courses.

It appears a major collaboration between two major YouTube channels from both the USA and the UK may be on the horizon.

It comes as social media posts, and sharp-eyed locals, spotted Good Good Golf, Rick Shiels and Peter Finch playing at Dundonald Links in Irvine and at Royal Troon Golf Club.

US golf group Good Good have risen to fame on YouTube over the past couple of years for their unique and fun takes on the game of golf.

The group comprises of five golfers - Garret Clark, Matt Scharff, Stephen Castaneda, Luke Kwon and Tom 'Bubbie' Broders - and they currently boast over 1.25 million subscribers on the video sharing platform.

Joining them was one the world's most popular golf YouTubers, Englishman Rick Shiels - widely seen as a real trailblazer within the YouTube golf community.

Rick currently has moed than 2.6m subscribers to his YouTube channel - making his channel the most subscribed golf channel on YouTube, with Good Good in second position.

Alongside them was Peter Finch, another golf YouTuber who has more than 550,000 subscribers on his channel.

It was Peter who teased of the huge collaboration on social media earlier this week.

He said the group had an "awesome evening" as the teed up at Royal Troon, which will play host to the 2024 Open Championship in a year's time.

He added: "Not going to spoil anything but something major was filmed."

One of our readers, KJ Sturrock, also spotted the group at the Dondonald Links course, which hosted one of the final qualifying rounds for this year's Open and is due to host the Women's Scottish Open from August 3-6.

Their springer spaniel Bob was even lucky enough to persuade Bubbie and Steve to pose for a snap - and then for Matt to do the same, with Rick peeking over in the background.

It's not yet clear what to expect from the video, though it's sure to be interesting - and whatever it is, it'll certainly have a stunning backdrop!
