AYR singer Sbob has released the latest song from his Revelation EP after a six-month gap.

The track, Maybe I’m Not, is available on all streaming platforms, completing the EP’s fifth release.

Sbob, whose real name is Stuart Stevenson, has spent more than 20 years fronting bands including Picnic, Bob Cuba and Stelar77.

He has also written and performed music for theatre, television and film, and led worship at church.

The release follows radio play in the United States and attention in Scotland and elsewhere.

It marks a move towards working as a solo artist rather than as a band frontman.

Stuart said: "Maybe I’m Not is an honest and heartfelt song about trying to survive the daily struggles of life, grief of losing a parent, and picking up the mantel of caring for complex needs of family members across three generations – father, brother and children.

"The lyrics ruminate on not having the strength to carry the full load of life solo and needing to be helped and carried by God's strength.

"This track is more ‘anthemic’ than the previous tracks Lonely People or Uncommon Sense, more akin to the title EP track Revelation.

"This is unapologetically the most commercially sounding Sbob offering so far."

The song is co-produced and mastered by Scottish artist and producer Sam Rae.
