A NEW book club for young women in South Ayrshire is holding its first event.
Scottish Book Girlies is a monthly club that started in Glasgow in May 2024 as an opportunity to make new friends and connect through the love of literature.
After holding 25 events in the city, the club is now expanding to Ayr to bring together fellow book-loving women across the region.
The first event will take place from 7-9pm on Wednesday, February 25 at The Tree House in Ayr.
This month, the group are reading Heart the Lover by Lily King which follows a college campus love triangle that reignites years after graduation.
Tickets, which cost £16.50 each and can be bought via TicketTailor, includes one welcome drink (prosecco, beer, or a soft drink), plus entry into some fun, bookish prizes.
Each table will have discussion prompts and bookish icebreakers to help the conversation flow naturally.
A spokesperson said: "Our events are always small and relaxed with book chat at the heart of the evening.
"Our main focus is community and we've had loads of book lovers come on their own who have met new friends through the club.
"Come along to one of our meetings. We would love to meet you."
