RESIDENTSÂ came out in force to pay tribute to the fallen at Remembrance Day services across South Ayrshire on Sunday.
With dignity and respect, they joined representatives of the armed forces as well ex-servicemen and women to mark 106 years since the end of the First World War.
South Ayrshire Council leaders joined the public and attended the events throughout the area.
Remembrance is an opportunity to show respect, honour and reflect on the sacrifices of all those who have served to protect lives and freedoms throughout times of conflict.
It is always held on the second Sunday in November, the Sunday nearest to November 11 (Remembrance Day), which is the anniversary of the Armistice that ended the hostilities of World War I in 1918 at 11am.
These photos from Charlie Gilmour show how the events went in Ayr and Troon.
