A TROON bartender has been presented with a parliamentary motion after creating the 'Official Serve' of the 2024 Open Championship.
South Scotland MSP Sharon Dowey presented Robbie Quinn of Scotts Bar and Restaurant with the motion.
Robbie's cocktail ‘The White Horse’ was crowned the ‘Official Serve’ of the 2024 Open Championship.
The local MSP praised Robbie, who had never been to the Open, and whose first job behind the bar was at West Kilbride Golf Club, for winning the Ben Lomond cocktail competition.
His creation contains a blend of the Open’s official gin, Ben Lomond, cucumber and mint oleo, fresh lime, absinthe, seaweed bitters, saline and sparkling water.
Scottish Conservative and Unionist MSP Ms Dowey said: “It was a real pleasure to visit Robbie at Scotts Bar and Restaurant in Troon and meet with him and his wife Rachel.
"Robbie’s dedication to his work and love for his craft shines through in what he has achieved.
"I hope to see him continue to go from strength to strength and I thank Ben Lomond Gins for facilitating this competition.
“I was delighted to lodge a motion in the Scottish Parliament, recognising Robbie’s achievement and congratulating him.
"I have no doubt there are many more great things to come from Robbie and I wish him every success for the future.”
