A MAN held in custody for carrying a knife in Girvan after police were called to a pub was given bail.
Hugh Cook pleaded guilty to a charge of carrying a pointed or bladed article, namely a knife, when he appeared from custody last week.
The court heard he was arrested on June 7 after a call was made to police regarding concern for the man's wellbeing, following comments he made in the Harbour Bar.
Bail was granted for Cook, of Victory Crescent, Girvan, when he appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court, ahead of background reports being prepared.
He will return to court for sentencing at a later date.
