THE owner of an Ayr takeaway has been honoured by a local charity.
Eric Ho, who runs Golden City in the town's Fullarton Street, was praised by Whiteleys Retreat for his generosity and fund-raising.
The takeaway owner raises money for the charity from bag charges and collection tins, and also offers discounts to Whiteleys families.
A charity spokesperson said: "It was our pleasure to surprise Eric Ho of Golden City with an outstanding fund-raising award.
"We recognise and truly appreciate that Eric has worked endlessly with us from when the charity started up to raise money and help in whatever way he can.
"It wasn't long before collection cans turned into buckets and thousands of pounds have been raised from carrier bag charges and tips coming to us, discounts offered to families visiting Whiteleys and Eric is always keen to help in anyway he can.
"Thank you Eric and everyone at Golden City!"
