A PICTURE of Troon Harbour has been awarded a top prize at an annual photography competition.
Maritime charity, the Shipwrecked Mariners’ Society, has announced the winners of its twelfth competition, which showcases images relating to the UK and Ireland’s relationship with the sea.
The photo called ‘Catch of the Day’ was taken by Raymond Watson and won the top prize in the Industry category.
This year’s edition of the competition received nearly 700 entries from amateur and professional photographers.
Captain Justin Osmond, chief executive of the shipwrecked mariners’ society, said: “In the twelfth year of the Ultimate Sea View photography competition, it is incredible to see the nation still enjoying our coastlines and supporting our maritime industry with a passion.
“As always, on behalf of the Society, I would like to say a massive thank you to all of those who entered this year and hopefully we will see you back again in 2025!”
Judging took place at Trinity House earlier in September by a panel of photography experts.
