SOUTH Ayrshire Council has provided an update on the progress of a major housing development in Ayr.
The local authority has confirmed that works are progressing at the Mainholm housing development.
A total of 160 new affordable homes are being built on the site of the former Mainholm Academy site, with a mix of one, two, three, four, five and six bedroom properties.
The new homes will be available to rent, will be energy efficient, and some will be modified to ensure they have full wheelchair access.
A council spokesperson said: "Works are on schedule at the Mainholm Housing development in Ayr.
"The roof tiling is almost complete, and scaffolding is being dismantled across the site. Drainage and utility connections will continue over the coming weeks."
