An Ayr woman who moved to the town after the Second World War is celebrating her 100th birthday.
Maria Beattie is originally from Austria, and has lived in Ayr since moving to Scotland after the Second World War.
During the war, she worked as a seamstress. Maria has one daughter, three stepsons and one granddaughter.
South Ayrshire Depute Provost Mary Kilpatrick visited Maria to present her with a bouquet of flowers and congratulate her on the milestone birthday.
