An escaped prisoner with links to Ayr has been traced and arrested by police.
Officers were looking to trace 33-year-old Martin Jackson, who was reported missing from Castle Huntly jail, near Dundee, around 6.30pm on Wednesday, August 28.
It was believed Jackson had connections in both Ayr and Cumbria, and the public were being asked not to approach him.
Police have now confirmed that Jackson has been "traced and subsequently arrested".
He is due to appear at Perth Sheriff Court on Monday, September 2.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
