People in South Ayrshire are being urged to 'feed a bin, not a gull' this summer.
Seagulls can be a problem when nesting by swooping and diving, causing distress. Gulls are attracted to areas where food is plentiful and where they can scavenge waste.
South Ayrshire Council says that people can help by not feeding gulls at home or in public areas and disposing of food waste and other waste securely.
If gulls are nesting on a privately owned building, then it is up to the owner to consider preventative measures.
