The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is celebrating 200 Years in Scotland with a public event at Low Green in Ayr.

The major celebration takes place this Saturday, August 17, to commemorate 200 years of fire service in Scotland.

The event is free and open to all, running from 10am until 4pm with a display of over 20 fire vehicles, from historic engines to modern-day equipment.

Visitors to Low Green will be able to get up close and personal with the vehicles and learn all about the role of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service in the past two centuries.

There will also be a wide range of activities and information stands, and everyone is encouraged to turn up and have fun.
