Police have confirmed the identity of a 22-year-old man who died following a disturbance at a property in Troon.
Officers have also issued an appeal to trace two people who are believed to have spoken with a man who was subsequently arrested in connection with the death of Callum Pollock.
Around 11.40pm on Saturday, July 6, officers were called to a report of a man seriously injured within a property at Ramsay Court in the town's Scott Crescent.
Emergency services attended but Mr Pollock was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 34-year-old has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the death.
James Thomson, from East Ayrshire, appeared in private at Ayr Sheriff Court on July 8; he made no plea and was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
Detective Inspector Keith Runcie said: “Our thoughts are with Callum’s family and everyone affected by his death.
“Our investigations are ongoing.
"We believe that the male who was subsequently arrested spoke with a male and female whilst awaiting a train at Troon railway station around midnight on Saturday, July 6 into Sunday, July 7, and we would like to speak to these people.
“We would ask that they contact police via telephone number 101, quoting incident number 4300 of July 6, 2024.”
