The RAF Falcons Parachute display team is set to appear at this year's International Ayr Show – Festival of Flight.

The festival will be held at the Ayr shore front on September 6 and 7.

The RAF Falcons are the UK’s premier military parachute display team and are based at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire.

The team is known for its skydiving displays and record-breaking feats.

High-speed free fall displays of up to 120mph, advanced maneuvers, and the team's famous 'hybrid' display, which includes the Heart and Crisscross Carousel, will be some of the highlights at the festival.

Dr Geoff Coxon, chief executive officer of SKYLAB, which is looking after the aerial aspects of the eagerly-anticipated event, said: "The RAF Falcons are a fantastic addition to our airshow this year.

"Not only will they be dropping in to see us on both the Friday and the Saturday, they will also show how important STEM is within their display and what they do, both at the Low Green and on the Friday and at the Prestwick Airport STEM week."

Jane Bradley, director of communities and transformation at South Ayrshire Council, said: "It’s fantastic that the RAF Falcons will display on both days of the festival this year.

"The team are well known for their impressive, daring performances, so I’m sure they will be a real crowd pleaser."
