Bus company Stagecoach have announced that services across Ayrshire will be cut during the Open golf championship at Royal Troon.
Thousands of spectators are expected to travel from all over the country to watch the action.
But the transport operator has revealed that timetables will be reduced in frequency on many Ayrshire routes as a result.
Amended timetables will operate on eight routes in Ayrshire, and one in Glasgow, from Monday, July 15 until Saturday, July 20.
A spokesperson for the company said: "During the school holidays, our services are typically quieter, so we've decided to temporarily reduce some frequencies to provide the most reliable service to our customers.
"This will also allow us to provide additional transport in key areas, including to and from the 152nd Open at Royal Troon, to allow customers to travel sustainably."
The tournament's organisers, the R&A, say public transport "will be significantly enhanced for travel convenience" and that public parking "will be provided at managed park and ride sites".
A special 'Golflink' bus will run between the course and Troon railway station for spectators travelling to and from the tournament by train, though further detail of 'park and ride' services has yet to be revealed.
The Stagecoach local services affected, and the revised frequencies, are as follows.
Service 1 Kilmarnock-Priestland, every 20 minutes.
Service 3 (Ayr) Kincaidston-Dalmilling, every 20 minutes.
Service 3 (Kilmarnock) Shortlees-Onthank, every 20 minutes.
Service 6/7 New Farm Loch-Bellfield, every 40 minutes.
Service 11 Ardrossan-Kilmarnock, every 15 minutes.
Service 18 Saltcoats-Hayocks, every 20 minutes.
Service 22 Castlepark-Perceton, every 20 minutes.
Service 28 Broomlands-Irvine Railway Station, every 20 minutes.
Service X19 Easterhouse-Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, every 15 minutes.
All local services will run as normal on Sunday, July 21, the final day of the tournament.
