An Ayr dental practice is set to close this month after 40 years in the town.
Fullarton Dental Care will close its doors for the final time on June 19, following a struggle to recruit additional dentists to the practice.
There has been a dentist on the Fullarton Street site for more than four decades, but that is set to come to an end.
In a letter sent to patients, the practice said: "You may be aware from all the media coverage, since the end of the Covid-19 pandemic there is still a significant shortage of dentists in Scotland.
"We have therefore not been able to recruit additional dentists for the practice.
"It is with a heavy heart that after 40 years we are going to have to close the doors to Fullarton Dental Care on June 19."
Patients have been informed of their options for alternative dentists in the town.
