A group of pupils from Wellington School in Ayr put their best foot forward in support of Diabetes UK.

The S6 leavers completed a 20-mile stretch of the River Ayr Way on Monday, following a seperate sponsored charity walk last week.

The walkers took on the challenge after missing out on taking part in the Kiltwalk, which sees thousands get their boots on to raise money for charities across the country.

A school spokesperson said: "Well done to a group of our S6 leavers, who completed a 20 mile stretch of the River Ayr Way yesterday!

"Our intrepid walkers were unable to subscribe for Kiltwalk but remained determined to complete a suitably challenging walk in support of Diabetes UK."
