Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a two car crash in Ayr.
Police are in attendance on the A713, with the incident taking place just before 5pm.
The A713 is currently closed beyond the traffic lights at Ayr Hospital.
A police spokeperson said: "We received a report of a crash involving two vehicles on the A713 in Ayr, around 4.55pm on Thursday, 23 May, 2024.
"Emergency services are in attendance and the A713 is closed beyond the traffic lights at Ayr Hospital. Drivers are asked to avoid the area."
It is believed that an air ambulance landed nearby shortly after the crash.
