Initial plans have been lodged for a proposed major housing development in Ayr.
Neptune Ayr Ltd has submitted a Proposal of Application Notice (PAC) with South Ayrshire Council for the former Neptune Works site on East Park Road.
The former industrial area has been disused since 2010, but now proposals have been lodged for an 8.5 hectare development.
The PAC states that the development would include land remediation, formation of vehicular and pedestrian accesses, landscaping, open space, and associated infrastructure.
It is not yet known how many homes will be included in a future planning application, but a number of public consultations have been outlined for July.
Back in 2021, Barratt Homes unveiled a proposal to build 144 homes on the site, but it is not yet known if this application is related.
