Prestwick Airport has hailed the arrival of its first Airbus A380 aircraft as a "monumental moment".
The super jumbo operated by Global Airlines touched down at the airport at around 5pm on Wednesday, May 1.
It's the first time the aircraft type - the largest in the world - has landed at the South Ayrshire airport.
The aircraft left Montreal on Wednesday morning, with aviation fanatics turning up in numbers at the airport to watch it touch down.
A Prestwick Airport spokesperson says that the arrival showcases the ability of the facility to handle even the largest aircraft.
They said: "We celebrated a monumental moment as Global Airlines 9H-GLOBL was the first ever A380 to touch down at our airport.
"This historic event showcases our airport's capability, with our long runway and ample aircraft parking.
"We've proven that we're ready to handle the largest of aircraft with ease."
