A section of two of Cumnock's busiest roads are set to be closed off for BT works to be carried out.

The roads are due to be shut for two days next month, with diversions around the town set to be put in place.

According to the Ayrshire Roads Alliance website, a section of Glaisnock Street will be closed off for northbound traffic from its junction with Hall Terrace to its junction with Ayr Road.

Southbound traffic is not set to be affected, meaning drivers should still be able to travel along Glaisnock Street towards Netherthird.

A section of Ayr Road is also set to be closed off for eastbound traffic between the New Bridge Street roundabout and Ayr Road's junction with Glaisnock Street.

Again, westbound traffic is not set to be affected, meaning drivers should still be able to drive along Ayr Road towards the police station.

The affected roads are set to be closed from 8am on Monday, May 20 until 5pm on Wednesday, May 22.

A diversion for the Glaisnock Street closure will be in place via Ayr Road towards the Dettingen Roundabout, along the A76 towards the Skerrington Roundabout, and the along the B7083 Glaisnock Road and into Glaisnock Street.

An Ayr Road diversion will be in place via New Brideg Street, Tanyard, Lugar Street and Townhead Street.
