Plans have been revealed to create a new residential development in Prestwick.

Ashleigh (Scotland) has submitted a planning application for 40 flats within four blocks on Links Road, adjacent to Prestwick Golf Club.

The apartments would be 3.5 storeys in height, with a mix of two, three and four bedrooms.

All upper floor apartments would have their own balconies.

Ayr Advertiser:

The company says that a total of 40 units is required for the "financial viability" of the project.

The proposed development sits on the site of the former Malcolm Sargent House.

The house was used as a holiday location, offering respite for young cancer patients and their families, for more than 45 years.

Malcolm Sargent House closed in 2016 and the building was demolished in 2020.

An application for assisted living accommodation on the site was previously approved in June 2018.
