Ground Force duo Charlie Dimmock and Tommy Walsh joined local VIPs to officially open the Garden World.


Ayr Advertiser: Carrick

Two 13-year-old pupils from Carrick Academy won a competition to design name plaques for the meeting rooms in a new £9 million service facility at Prestwick International Aerospace Park. Adam Hastings and Ross Baird got the chance to turn their drawings into reality thanks to sponsorship from Ayr-based Owen Kerr Signs.


Ayr Advertiser: Curling

Olympic gold medallist Rhona Martin came along to Ayr Ice Rink to meet and coach the Mainholm curling team in 2004. She is pictured giving some curling tips to David Steele, 13.


Ayr Advertiser: Prestwick

Brainy youngsters from Prestwick Academy stormed home in a special maths challenge. All 10 pupils scooped certificates at the event, with Kerry Lindsay winning the Best in School award. Ayr Advertiser: Troon

The P7a pupils at Troon Primary took a trip back in time during a special Victorian day. The classroom was rearranged as it was in times past and lessons styled as they were in the 1800s. The pupils enjoyed getting into the spirit of things, with Kyle Vallance, 11, and Thomas Gaunt, 11, receiving some Victorian style discipline.
