TWO NHS heroes raced against the clock to grab free bags of shopping at a Prestwick store.

Jacqueline Murphy and Liz Hendren took part in a Supermarket Sweep-style challenge at the Keystore More on Adamton Road North.

The two health workers were given 60 seconds to fill a basket with as many things as they possibly could, with it all being paid for by Snappy Shopper.

Alcohol and vapes were excluded from the deal.

The store is one of many across Scotland to appear on the delivery site which allows people to order groceries to be delivered to their homes.

Jacqueline and Liz, who both work for NHS Ayrshire and Arran, managed to gather a basket full of items including coffee, crisps, snacks, rice, Lurpark and even chicken breasts whilst being cheered on by family and friends and a representative from NHS Staff Benefits.

Jacqueline managed to bring her total to over £86 with coffee, pakora, Irn Bru and crisps, whilst Liz focused on rice, chicken and sweet treats.

Speaking after the event Liz, who has worked in the NHS for over 20 years said: "It was very exciting and a bit of a rush. I thought I would just go for anything as there wasn't much time."

And Jacqueline added: "I had a plan before going in as we were able to look around the store first but when it came to the dash I grabbed anything I could.

"A huge thank you to Snappy Shopper!"

Nick Kooner, owner of Keystore More in Prestwick, said: "Both Liz and Jacqueline excelled during the event!

"We are eternally grateful and extremely thankful to the Prestwick community for their overwhelming support towards our store - which opened just 14 months ago.

"We strive to give back to the community in a range of way; product giveaways, store vouchers and providing goods to help fund local causes.

"We absolutely loved taking on this remarkable opportunity to bring the Snappy Shopper Store event to Keystore More Prestwick which we believe brought a real buzz to our community and provided some great entertainment for everyone to get involved."
