A major sponsor from the 2023 International Ayr Show - Festival of Flight has given its backing to the 2024 event.

South Ayrshire Council is welcoming back Ashleigh (Scotland) Limited as a key sponsor for this year's event.

The construction company, which has an office in Prestwick, was a major sponsor of the hugely popular 2023 air show event, which saw 240,000 people flock to Ayr to enjoy impressive aerial displays, great family entertainment and activities.

The success of last September's event has seen Ashleigh grab the opportunity to be at the forefront of the much-anticipated 2024 festival.

Councillor Alec Clark, the authority's portfolio holder for tourism, culture and rural affairs, said: "Sponsorship is vital to the success of the air show, so it's great to welcome back Ashleigh (Scotland) Limited as a key sponsor for this year's festival.

"It's wonderful that the success of the 2023 event has drawn Ashleigh back and I'll look forward to working with them to deliver another spectacular event."

Euan Clark, Ashleigh (Scotland)'s commercial director, said: "We are delighted to be the main sponsor for the 2024 Air Show.

"Last year's event was a tremendous success in bringing many benefits to the local economy, and it was fantastic to see so many visitors to the area for this wonderful event.

"As a Prestwick based company, we were extremely proud to see the Ashleigh flags and banners flying in the September sunshine, and we cannot wait to see the same again this year.

"We look forward to working with all of the delivery team to ensure this year's event is every bit as successful as last year."
